ABHIGNA REDDY

Hi, I'm Abhigna.
I'm a 27 year old postgraduate from the National Film and Television School, originally from a small town in South India and now based in London. I moved here to pursue my dreams in the entertainment industry, and I’m passionate about producing, casting, and telling compelling human stories, especially those that are honest, intimate, and a little unexpected.
I'm drawn to stories that challenge me to see the world differently. My curiosity about people and perspectives has shaped the way I approach both storytelling and collaboration with openness, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose.Outside of film and television, I’m also a part-time travel photographer with nearly a decade of experience capturing moments across the world.

"Life's too short for anything less than good vibes and great teamwork!"

WATCH MY WORK

I'd love to discuss my projects, ask away your questions to my email above!

Comedy Entertainment Pilot | Creator & Producer(too busy to watch 20 minutes? You can watch our trailer at the bottom of this section)Mating Season is a bold and playful comedy dating show inspired by the wild and wonderful world of animal mating rituals. Hosted by a dog couple, the show flips the script on human courtship, celebrating instinct, compatibility, and fun over formality. Their philosophy? “Let’s do it doggy style”, because in the animal kingdom, confidence and connection matter more than perfection, and there’s no such thing as divorce. As the creator and producer, I led the project end-to-end from original concept and narrative development, casting, talent management, production planning, and writing comedy. The script evolved in post-production, where I crafted the dogs' commentary to match the unscripted moments captured during filming, making their reactions feel hilariously spot-on.Technically ambitious and creatively unique, the project drew praise from industry professionals. One remarked, “Having dogs as presenters is something we might see 10 years from now, but you’ve already done it.” That comment made my day.

So-Called Misfit documentary film | Director, Producer, Camera, EditorThis short documentary holds a special place in my heart. Although I’ve worked on many projects since, this was my very first film, created without any formal filmmaking training or experience. I took on every role myself: producer, director, cinematographer, sound recordist, editor, and sound designer.I made this film with the intention of helping a school I deeply cared about, hoping to support them in securing more funding and I’m proud to say it was a success on both fronts. So Called Misfit went on to receive worldwide recognition and numerous screenings, and remains a defining moment in my creative journey.Highlights:

Gogglebox | Producer Director, Casting ProducerGogglebox Module was inaugurated by Leon Campbell. Working in pairs as Producer Director, we conducted street casting at various locations around West, successfully finding contributors who delivered incredible content.
Due to unexpected challenges faced by one of the teams, I stepped in to support my colleagues, ultimately taking on the responsibility of directing and producing a significant portion of the project. This experience became a pivotal learning opportunity for me.
Through this project, I expanded my skills beyond producing and directing: I learned production management, equipment handling, and how to adapt quickly to different locations, new contributors, and changing environments.
It was an incredible opportunity to learn directly from the actual Gogglebox camera team.
This project was a huge success, and I'm proud to say that my colleagues and I were the very first group to experiment with such a large-scale module.

KOKO live magazine show | ProducerKeep on Keeping on (KOKO) is a live magazine show and my first project as a television producer.
The theme of the series was mental health, and I had the opportunity to produce a full episode (Episode 2), featuring the band HUTCH from Brighton, as well as support the team on Episode 1 by casting a suitable band.
Through extensive research, I explored various aspects of mental health, including Virtual Reality Therapy, the mind-body connection, and more. Surprisingly, my final segment choices were rooted in topics I was already familiar with from my own culture, subjects that were still relatively undiscovered in the UK at the time.I cast an expert in Kama Sutra and its effects on mental health, someone who not only had deep knowledge but also ran charitable workshops supporting people's well-being.
The interview with Foca explored the origins of Kama Sutra, toxic masculinity, the relationship between sexual well-being and mental health, the impact of taboos surrounding sex, and the effects of pornography on mental health.
The second half of the episode shifted to a lighter tone, featuring stand-up comedy followed by a discussion on the therapeutic power of laughter, along with interactive exercises designed to encourage joy and laughter—because, why not?

The good the dad and the ugly TV pilot trailer | Assistant ProducerThis heartwarming pilot explores the irreplaceable bond between fathers and sons as they navigate shared activities and confront emotional challenges that test and deepen their relationship.I had the pleasure of working with a talented team, supporting the producer across all stages of production. My responsibilities included contributing to content development, logging rushes, assisting with camera and on-set production needs, and managing production paperwork.Highlights:

Double Dealers | Multicam DirectorDouble Dealer is a studio-based game show that I directed as a Multicam Director. I’ve always enjoyed working with cameras, and stepping into multi-camera directing felt like a natural progression for me. Although I was the Director on this project, my passion for casting also led me to personally cast the show’s contestants. I was initially a bit nervous about leading a large crew in English, as it’s not my first language, but the moment I sat in the director’s chair, that hesitation vanished. The energy, the teamwork, and the rhythm of live directing all came together seamlessly. I loved both developing this show and bringing it to life in the studio.

Srungaram music video | Art Director, Jr. Production ManagerSrungaram is a music video I worked on as an Art Director in 2017.
The song tells the story of a sex worker who, through Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, discovers the spiritual dimension of sexuality under the guidance of a dance teacher.
This piece was brought to life by some of the most legendary names in Indian cinema: vocals by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, music by Mani Sharma, and choreography by Polaki Vijay.
It was an honour to be part of such a deeply artistic and meaningful collaboration, and a truly formative experience in my creative journey.
